Rochelle Barda's body of work consists of representational paintings, collages, and monotypes. Her artwork is inspired by the drama of light and shadow playing on objects as we see in her paintings and monotypes of people, flowers, landscapes, still life, and animals. Her portraits of children and adults capture the personality and character of her subjects. Her commissions draw high praise for capturing the inner essence of the person.

Her paintings, collages, and prints reflect her extensive travels within the United States, Southeast Asia, and Europe, yet remain strongly anchored to her former home in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, and in her home in southern New Mexico.
